Meet the team: five minutes with…
In addition to blowdries, aer also offers a choice of beauty treatments including manicures, eyebrow threading and tinting for brows and lashes. So this week on aer diaries we catch up with aer’s beautician Jeet as part of our Meet the team: five minutes with… series. We take some time out with Jeet to talk all sorts from manicures to favourite getaway destinations. Let’s get started!
What is the best thing about working at aer?
I’d say my favourite thing is meeting the clients and getting to know them better. I find aer a very calming place to work; it’s a peaceful space away from the hustle and bustle of the Old Brompton Road where you can chill out and enjoy the contemporary interiors and atmosphere. Clients often comment on this, saying they enjoy this experience just as much as the treatments themselves.
Why did you want to become a beautician?
I have always loved all things beauty so becoming a beautician seemed like the next step. Also the opportunity to meet and talk to different people has always appealed to me.
As you know at aer we use both Essie and CND nail polishes, what are your top colour picks for each?
In the Essie range I love the A-list and Aperitif colours- both are gorgeous reds. Perfect to be worn on a night out or a great colour for work, they go with everything!
In the CND range the equivalents are Wildfire and Hollywood – what great names they have too!
For those who enjoy shellac manicures on a regular basis, what can you recommend to maintain strong and healthy nails?
I would say use a nail hardener treatment on your nails regularly. O.P.I have a good selection of protective treatments.
What are the benefits of the threading and tinting treatments at aer?
Tinting is great before you’re heading off on holiday and you don’t want the burden of worrying about makeup. It also helps to define the face better and really opens up the eyes.
Threading is a very cost effective treatment as it lasts 3 weeks which is ideal for women on the go.
Hair up or down?
Sometimes down but mostly up. With my job it is easier when my hair is off my face.
Deepika Padukone, she is a beautiful Indian film actress who has an established career in Hindi films. She always looks so glamorous and I love her elegance.
I like Indian movies, the costumes can be fantastic -one of my favourites is Bajirao Mastani which is dramatic love story.
What’s your favourite thing about London in the summer?
It’s fabulous to be able to dress up more in the city over the summer. I love being experimental with fashion in warmer weather and getting my sandals out and painting my nails too!
What do you do to relax/de-stress?
Escaping hectic London when I get the chance is the perfect way to unwind for me. One of my favourite places to go is Scotland. I adore the Scottish countryside but also find Edinburgh beautiful.
Thank you to Jeet for taking the time to feature on our Meet the team: five minutes with series. Stay tuned for our next interview soon!
